【Live Report】SARIGIA 「LAST ONEMAN TOUR – S A R I G I A -」(Shinsaibashi JUZA)

SARIGIA is a visual kei band from Tokyo. Since their debut in 2018 at the iconic Ikebukuro EDGE, they have left their mark on the scene with a style that fuses classic visual kei with modern elements, captivating both longtime fans and newcomers to the genre.

With the unexpected announcement of their disbandment, they launched one final tour titled LAST ONEMAN TOUR – S A R I G I A –, aiming to close nearly four years of activity with a monumental farewell.

The tour stop we had the pleasure of attending was at Shinsaibashi JUZA on January 20, an intimate venue in Osaka.

Each member took the stage with an elaborate and meticulously detailed look, staying true to the akuma (Japanese folklore demons) aesthetic that has become their signature, complete with horns on their heads. Charlie, as a support drummer, kept it simple with the official tour T-shirt.

The show began with SARIGIA stepping onto the stage to an exotic, almost ritualistic tune. The audience, thrilled, burst into applause, and the band responded with smiles, creating a warmth that made everyone feel part of something special.

With his finger pointing to the sky, ASUKA kicked off the setlist with “Jiko ai-teki jigyaku shisō no uta.” From the very first moment, Natsu and Shoma engaged the crowd with intertwining guitar solos that seemed to follow the audience’s gaze, building an electrifying atmosphere.

With his signature voice, ASUKA urged the crowd to come closer to the stage. The message was clear: they wanted this to be an intimate live, the perfect setting for a farewell.

The sultry rhythm of S.D.S turned up the heat, with the lighting shifting frenetically, transforming the venue into a pulsating nightclub.

Just as the audience was catching their breath, the venue suddenly went dark. A mischievous, almost impish high-pitched voice echoed through the speakers, like a little demon playfully announcing details about the tour, reminding everyone of the uniqueness of this show.

Deep;er was, without a doubt, one of the most surprising songs of the night: a mix of heavy breakdowns with European influences, only to be seamlessly brought back to the heart of Japan with ASUKA’s melodic vocals—so unmistakably J-rock.

A brief pause followed as ASUKA took a breath and shared his impressions about their previous show in Nagoya. With a smile, he said “happy-happy” in English, expressing gratitude to the fans who had joined them on this final tour. “Without you, this tour wouldn’t mean anything before our disband,” he added, prompting an even louder round of applause.

The mood turned emotional when ASUKA softly uttered Owari to Mirai,” just as the stage lights dramatically illuminated the room.

This melancholic ballad wrapped the night in a bittersweet farewell, with ASUKA holding a hand to his chest while the other members bowed their heads, visibly affected by the weight of their imminent breakup.

In “Kyoshoku yume,” Natsu’s guitar solo carried an intriguing contrast—both cold and warm, as if whispering that this wasn’t a goodbye, but rather a see you later.

A rare and sincere emotion filled the air, creating an almost eerie atmosphere that is not often felt at a live.

As the next song began, a melody tinged with Hindu influences drifted through the speakers, prompting fans to raise their arms in a prayer-like motion for “Gōman.” The energy spiked, and Natsu, full of vitality, not only played his guitar but also moved freely with the rhythm.

Following tradition, fans took out their tour towels and spun them in circles, creating a truly bangya moment.

During the MC, Natsu, a bit shy, and Charlie chatted for a while. They formally introduced Charlie as SARIGIA’s last support drummer. They also revealed that despite some technical issues during the show, they managed to handle them seamlessly, congratulating each other for keeping it under control. Eventually, Shoma returned to the stage, much to Natsu’s delight, who had been waiting eagerly to resume the show.

For the encore, the band changed outfits, now all wearing the official tour merchandise. They commented on how Kansai audiences (Osaka) are always especially fun and reminisced about their experiences playing in the region alongside other bands.

Then, “RUIN” blasted through the speakers at full force, with ASUKA urging the crowd to “awaken the demon within.”

Charlie’s drumming dictated the intense tempo, while ASUKA took things up a notch with deep, guttural growls. It was impossible not to join in the “lalala” chorus during the melodic refrain.

Between songs, ASUKA and the members talked about how they were already looking forward to karaoke after the show, something they had been doing since the beginning of this tour in Nagoya.

In “VENOM” ASUKA repeatedly hit his head as if losing his mind, only to regain his composure in an instant, seducing the audience with provocative gestures.

The biggest surprise came when the song unexpectedly shifted from metal to an electronic interlude, elevating the show’s energy to a new peak.

The highlight of the night was when the band and audience moved in perfect sync, swaying from left to right in unison with precise, synchronized movements.
