KOKESHI to perform their only Spanish show in Madrid with MURMUR
NIPPONGAKU is proud to present the only Spanish show of Japanese blackened hardcore band KOKESHI, who will arrive in Madrid this summer as part of their 2026 overseas activities.
Formed in 2017, KOKESHI have built a distinctive identity by blending black metal, screamo, shoegaze and post-rock with a dark aesthetic deeply inspired by Japanese horror. Over the years, the band has developed a passionate following through the intensity of their live performances and a sound that refuses to fit within a single genre.
Following tours across Southeast Asia and recent performances in countries such as Italy, the United Kingdom and France, KOKESHI will make a stop in Madrid for what will be their only concert in Spain this summer.
The band has released two critically acclaimed full-length albums, Doukei and Reikoku, the latter becoming one of their most celebrated works. Their music has also reached audiences outside Japan through international vinyl releases and by sharing stages with artists such as Svalbard, Rolo Tomassi, Infected Rain, HEXIS and Gillian Carter.
Joining the event will be Madrid-based band MURMUR.
After presenting their latest album, Red Hill, throughout Europe and appearing at festivals such as Stoned Metal Fest and Bajonca Rock Fest, MURMUR will return home to close their European tour. With their blend of post-black metal and atmospheric darkness, they have become one of the most interesting names in the current Spanish underground scene.
This special event will bring together two bands from different backgrounds that share a common vision: intense live performances, emotional depth and a sound that pushes beyond conventional genre boundaries.
